Leverage Points in NLP Change Work – Michael Carroll
June 14, 2024In this video, Michael Carroll, NLP Academy Founder talks about the leverage points in conducting NLP change work. Level One Coaching
• Identify Meta Model Patterns
• Work with the stuck representational system
• Manoeuvre perceptual positions for a triple description
• Work with the metaphor the client is using to describe their situation
The above widens the map, which has been heavily filtered through the patterns referenced.
By widening the map the client has an awareness of how they construct their problem state and awareness other choices are available. Michael goes on to describe the differences in working with cases where clients have a recall for historic reorientations of the origin of their problem, and those who don’t but are aware of the triggers in the present context, and how life experiences operate outside conscious awareness to trigger the problem the client is experiencing in the present. By working with the kinaesthetic expression represented in the immediate problem as a signal from the unconscious you can open the channels to access representations which have been buried in the unconscious, and in doing so, you break the daily facades and work at a much deeper level.
